DAY 1 - From Prague to Tabor

    107 km / 1600 mt elevation

The first stage of the trip is the more demanding as we have fresh legs. We will go to Pruhonice, a beautiful castle on the outskirt of Prague, by van and we will start pedaling from there. We will soon be riding on remote country roads up and down rolling hills until we get to Tabor,  a town that thanks to its rich history, architectural monuments and attractive countryside location, is one of the Czech Republic´s most favourite spots by locals.

DAY 2 - From Tabor to Český Krumlov

    110 km / 1000 mt elevation

Rolling hills, laid back villages and forests will be awaiting for us after breakfast until we will reach the Vltava river and the beautiful Windsor style chateau castle known as Hluboka castle that deserves a visit. Some more km will take us to České Budějovice, the largest city in South Bohemia well known for the beer brewed there since the 13th century. Later in the afternoon wie will arrive to our destination, the town of Cesky Krumlov, the pearl of Bohemia and UNESCO site, an outstanding example of a small central European medieval town.

DAY 3 - From Český Krumlov to Langelois

    100 km / 900 mt elevation

Time to ride east (did you know that Vienna is further east than Prague?!). Today we are going to cross the Czech Canada national reserve.

With its ancient network of cannels and ponds, peaceful forests, remarkable historical attractions and traditional village architecture this area is among the most important local tourist destinations in the Czech Republic. The natural centre of the region is the bath town Třeboň.

The long-standing tradition of fish-farming creates a very genuine atmosphere in the town and its surroundings.  After visiting Trebon we will head further east toward Slavonice, 1 km from the Austrian border. On the way there we will visit Landstejn castle ruin and on of the biggest open air bunker museum in the country. Slavonice is very popular for its preserved renaissance town centre, for the underground tunnel system dating back to the 12th century.

After the town visit we jump in the car and transfer to our hotel in Langenlois, in the middle of one of the most important Austrian wine regions.

DAY 4 - From Langenlois to Durnstein via Melk

    97 km / 700 mt elevation

A glorious pedaling through vineyards and orchards  followed by descend further to the Danube, will take us to UNESCO Wachau valley. We will ride along the river through many pictoresque little towns. Melk Abbey is one of the biggest and most beautiful European Baroque Ensembles. Its splendid architecture ist famous worldwide and part of UNESCO´s World Cultural Heritage. Since 1089, Benedictine Monks have continually been living and working in Melk Abbey. After that, we will ride our hotel located in Durnstein, the pearl of Wachau.

DAY 5 - From Durnstein to Vienna

    100 km / 300 mt elevation

Today we are mainly riding along the Danube all the way to Vienna. The stage is much flatter than the one before for a perfect final relaxing stage.

There is no better way to see a country than on a bike and with the guys from Biko Adventures. We just finished the Prague-Vienna Advanced Road Bike Holiday. I cannot say enough positive things about the trip and our guides. Each day was an adventure with special sites and surprises all orchestrated by them. The mileage was very manageable with plenty of time for lunches, drinks and some site seeing.
